Bodega: background and attribution
Greg Thompson’s Bodega Sans dates to 1990 and draws on Art Deco lettering. The Bodega name also covers a serif companion. The two branches deserve comparison within the same family overview rather than assuming every search for Bodega means an identical font file.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The Sans source distinguishes angular and rounded alternate forms, described as Regular and Oldstyle, with small-cap resources as well. Its current package presents Light, Medium and Black. Bodega Serif has a separate specimen and serif construction; select the branch before comparing its weights.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Create a narrow poster heading and a short packaging label. Compare the alternate forms on letters that occur in your actual wording. Keep the serif or sans branch recorded, along with the chosen stylistic settings, when handing the layout to another editor.
For independent comparisons, try Josefin Sans and Poiret One. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
