Bayshore: background and attribution
Sam Parrett designed Bayshore for Set Sail Studios. Its publisher frames the hand-drawn monoline script around an eighties-inspired visual mood; that reference should not be mistaken for a documented 1980s release date.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The original includes end-swash lowercase alternates accessed through stylistic alternates in supporting software. Separate underline strokes are mapped to square and curly bracket characters in that font. Those mappings are not universal Unicode decorations.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Compare a brief retro title with and without a final swash. Sacramento and Satisfy offer different script rhythms. Keep the underline clear of descenders and inspect the smallest intended graphic.
For independent comparisons, try Sacramento and Satisfy. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
