Aspekta: background and attribution

Aspekta is Ivo Dolenc’s open-source sans serif project, developed in Croatia and distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The project supplies static and variable resources and publishes its source files. Its neutral direction is a design goal, not an assertion that every sans serif has the same proportions.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The repository documents a broad weight range and stylistic sets ss01 through ss14. Compare ordinary letters with selected alternates in your actual wording. Use the variable resource for continuous controls in compatible software; a static file remains a particular weight even when it shares the family name.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a compact interface heading, navigation label and paragraph. Compare weights at the final screen size and include accented names from the project. Record the resource version and selected stylistic set so another editor can reproduce the same presentation.

For independent comparisons, try Inter and Manrope. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
