Arboria: background and attribution
José M. Urós developed Arboria from an architectural sans-serif starting point, introducing grotesque details into its geometry. The publisher’s account dates the family’s development across 2013–2017. This combination explains its warmer character without treating it as a strict geometric construction exercise.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
Six weights have upright and italic resources. Generous x-height, open apertures and broad proportions are part of the described design. Compare those proportions in the actual specimen rather than assuming a nominally matching size will align with another geometric family.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Try an editorial heading, an italic subheading and a small label. Keep the wording fixed while comparing weights. Inspect the open spaces in lowercase forms before tightening tracking to fit a narrow column.
For independent comparisons, try Manrope and Josefin Sans. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
Official preview and font resources
Use Type-Ø-Tones / Adobe Fonts to try the original and investigate the files, styles and terms for your intended workflow. This site does not distribute or serve Arboria font software.
The editable alternatives here have their own source profiles and included licenses. For the difference between a font file and copied characters, read Unicode text versus fonts.
