Antenna: background and attribution
Cyrus Highsmith's Antenna began in 2006. Occupant Fonts describes a design that emphasizes the shapes of the spaces inside and between letters, with deliberately measured curves. Victoria Rushton led the 2025 Antenna 2 release, which adds language support and variable resources to that industrial sans serif direction.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The current Antenna 2 source lists seven weights across four widths with matching italics. Standard, Condensed, Extra Condensed and Compressed resources provide different designed proportions. Keep the revised edition distinct from an older installation: new coverage and variable resources should not be assumed to exist in every Antenna file.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Compare a compact heading, a paragraph and a short interface label. Inspect the pattern of internal spaces as well as the outer letter shapes before selecting a width. Choose a designed compressed resource instead of squeezing a standard one, then inspect actual multilingual text in the selected edition.
For independent comparisons, try Roboto Condensed and Inter. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.

Your questions, answered.
What is Antenna 2?
Occupant Fonts describes a 2025 release led by Victoria Rushton, extending Highsmith's 2006 design with more language support and variable fonts.
Does an older Antenna file include all current features?
Do not assume that. Compare the actual edition's character coverage, styles and variable resources.
How are widths different from weights?
Widths change designed proportions, while weights change stroke density. The current Antenna 2 family supplies both dimensions with italic companions.
