ingoFonts’ documented design problem
ingoFonts explains Analogue as a reinterpretation of Akzidenz Grotesk whose distinguishing starting point was a lowercase l with a projecting foot. The creator describes coordinated feet on a, l and t, changes to K and R, strongly slanted oblique forms, alternate letters and several numeral treatments. Its current Analogue Pro package lists seven weights with corresponding slanted styles plus a variable font. Those details describe the ingoFonts product, not every design marketed under the word Analogue.
Proof letter identification and alternate settings
Make a paragraph containing real names, short labels and identifiers in which lowercase l occurs beside capital I. Keep a plain-text reference next to the typeset proof so errors remain visible. Compare the available alternates in duplicate text blocks while leaving size and line width fixed. Look at whole-word rhythm as well as the individual l: an alternate may make one letter more conspicuous but change the texture of a paragraph. Save the chosen feature settings with the project.
Choose numerals for the actual information task
Create a price list or schedule using the project’s real values, including narrow and wide numerals, decimals and punctuation. Compare proportional, old-style and tabular figures where the purchased font and application expose them. Judge an aligned column separately from a number embedded in prose. Then add a short emphasized phrase in the corresponding slanted style and inspect its word spacing and line endings. Avoid assuming every role should use the same numeral treatment simply because one option aligns a table well.
Separate Tropical Type Analogue and the reduced trial
Tropical Type’s original Analogue description instead presents a mix of serif and sans-serif characteristics, soft curves, high contrast and a contrasting light italic. It is a separate product. ingoFonts also explicitly limits its reduced trial to A–Z and a–z without features; that trial cannot establish the full package’s numerals or alternates. Inter, Manrope and Source Sans 3 are independent comparison specimens here, not either Analogue release. Consult the appropriate original source for the particular design and files.
Your questions, answered.
Does ingoFonts’ reduced Analogue trial include the numeral features?
The creator lists no features and only A–Z/a–z for the reduced trial. Use the full product’s original specimen and package information to investigate the numeral options.
Is Tropical Type Analogue the same design as ingoFonts Analogue?
No. Their original product descriptions document different designs. Keep the foundry name with the reference before comparing styles or choosing files.
