01

The original designer names the custom family

Jamie Clarke’s Alphablocks case study identifies the commissioned family as BlocksUniverse, designed for the characters, animated shows and other media. He describes revisiting the earlier typeface and creating weights from thin to heavy with a regular italic. His account highlights deliberately distinct b and d shapes, Latin European coverage and numeral alternatives for regional preferences.

Those are documented construction choices, not a claim that any rounded alphabet has identical forms or that a typeface alone produces a learning outcome. The case study documents the original custom project; it does not offer a public font-download package.

02

Compare the actual b, d and numeral models

For your own letter-recognition card, compare the required lowercase forms at the intended size. Put b and d in a short, ordinary word as well as in an isolated pair; their relationship to other letters matters too. If the activity uses a numeral model, agree on its shape before generating the whole set. A regional numeral alternative is not merely a decorative option when a child is being asked to copy the shape.

Independent Fredoka specimens let you explore a different friendly display face. They are not BlocksUniverse or a replacement for the custom character alphabet.

03

Keep the character, letter and instruction legible

On an original illustrated activity card, reserve a clear area around the principal letter. Do not let a face, hand or border become an apparent part of its stroke. Make the instruction a separate text role, and keep a matching letter model across the card and answer area. For solid handwriting models and tracing resources, use the KG Primary guide instead of assuming the same activity needs the same font.

For a separate short celebration message, our homepage playful copyable text styles use Unicode substitutions. They do not provide BlocksUniverse files or preserve a particular instructional letter model in every app.
