Begin with the creator’s Adineue account
MCKL credits an initial lowercase Adineue PRO in three weights to Joancarles Casasín. Its own collaboration with adidas expanded that foundation into a much broader custom system. The foundry connects the original geometric lettering with the brand’s functional design direction. This is stronger evidence than assigning the adidas identity to a familiar retail sans serif based only on a few visually similar lowercase letters.
Understand the expansion and logo work
The creator documents uppercase letters, italics, condensed styles and special ligatures, followed by further narrower and wider designs. MCKL also remastered logos including the wordmark and trefoil. Its earlier project account describes variable-font work spanning widths and weights. Those developments explain why one screenshot cannot establish every style used across adidas applications, and why typing a name in a similar geometric face does not reproduce the supplied brand artwork.
Use independent comparisons for your own typography
The geometric-font guide and Jost profile provide separate visual comparisons for an original athletic heading. They are not Adineue PRO files or an exact adidas wordmark. Compare the actual uppercase and lowercase your project needs, then inspect width, weight and rhythm together. The Bauhaus reference supplies historical context without turning every geometric sans into the same design.
Choose width before distorting the letters
Build a short sports-event heading and a plain date line. Compare naturally wider and narrower font styles where available instead of stretching the text mechanically. Keep the event name readable at thumbnail size and check repeated letters for awkward spacing. Use the practical information in a stable, comfortable style, then record the actual family and style so the finished project has an accurate typographic specification.
Your questions, answered.
What font does adidas use?
MCKL’s creator account names Adineue PRO and describes its extensive custom development for adidas.
Is the adidas wordmark identical to any geometric font?
The creator documents separate logo remastering work. A similar geometric alphabet should not be presented as an exact official wordmark.
